remounting my amp tomorrow. have questions.
want to mount my sub somewhere out of the way.
right now i have it in an enclosure under the sub. and its not breathing at all down there. want to mount it on the backwall or something do i just drill in? i dont want to drill to the outside of the cab... lol ideas por favor?! |
does anyone have any info?...
|
under the seats?
|
I have had mine under the seats for 2 years no problems either.
Back wall would look cool and appealing to a thief |
my amp wont fit under the seats. lol.
or else it would have been done loooong ago haha |
I had a buddy mount his to the back wall.
He drilled holes through the wall all the way out the truck and used bolts and nuts to mount them. His theory was they wouldn't be able to rip them off the wall He used silicone to cover up the bolt to prevent water. Never had a problem |
hmm tempting.
anyone know how far i can drille before i reaches outside? no worried bout anybody seeing the holes, since its the back of the cab. but idk, kinda want to avoid that... |
I would say you would know when you get to the back metal part of the wall.
Cause you would have to really put pressure to make it go through. |
yeah true. i might just do that, and seal it up with silicone.
i plan on having this truck for a long while. and if i do eventually sell it, it'll be so far from now, a couple of holes in the back of the cab will be the least of their problems haha |

what i did was on my truck there is 2 screws that hold the back panel on and i put a piece of metal along those and drilled more holes in it for my amp...kinda hard to explain. ill try to get pix.

well i got it mounted. where the driver side jump seat folds up. but i took taht out when i did my body lift. only put the pass side back in. found some short screws taht only went through the plastic. looks graet! i'll snap pics later. gonna drive around for a while and see if that fixed the issues with my amp heating up
|
i have mine mounted on the bottom of my rear fold down seat.
|
thats not a bad idea either
oh, and no more amp getting too hot!! woo! |

|
the bottom of that seat was pretty hard to get through.
|
i can get a pic of what itll look like if you want
|
ohh gotcha
yeah a pic would be sweet i might stick to the rear wall for now, but if the time ever comes that i want to put the driver side jump seat back in, i'll probably do exactly what you did |

lol same box! i think yours may be bigger though.
either way, cool setup |
Damn you guys gotta use some zip ties to clean that mess up!!
I took out my pass side rear seat and mounted it on the wall, I kind of want the seat back in though and I was going to mount it in the middle of the two seats. Problem is, there goes my jack. Anyone have other spots for their jack? under the seat will roll around, any ways to mount it? |
