Rockford Fosgate ???

I looked at some Rockford Fosgate speakers at an audio shop today and wondered how they would sound, they didnt have any of them hooked for sampling. Here are the two I looked at (P1572C 5X7 2-Way ) and (P1683C
6"x8" 3-Way) a sub may come later, and iam looking for a head unit to, so any body got any info on any of this.

Rockford's Punch series are good. You'll get a little better sound than stock. As far as head unit, I suggest Alpine. I have one in each of my cars and have never had a problem. Plus I like them because they are easy to use.

i am going to have to second an alpine headunit. I have had two and loved them both. They are strait forward but offer all the control that most people would ever need. And alot of people say that the ipod controls that are built in are hard to work with, but i don't seem to have a single problem with them.

I'm going to suggest Kenwood as well, especially the excelon series. I've had quite a few decks in my vehicles over the last few years and I've always been happiest with my Excelon's. Full featured and pretty user friendly!!

Infinity for the speakers...they are the best for the money. As far as the HU goes Alpine would be the way to go.

I'd say for speakers, any major brand name will be good. I have pioneer 6x9's and they are nice....big difference between factory speakers and those....I have tweeters too though. And I'd say kenwood for a radio....you've seen mine, but I dont think you'd want to pay what I payed for mine. haha If you listen to the radio alot, make sure you get one that can pick up radio stations the best......the lower the dBf reading, the better. Look on Crutchfield.com.....they have all the info and specs on a ton of radios. Thats where I got mine.

Rockford Fosgate isn't performing as well as they used to. Also, for the headunit, go Kenwood.

my brother just got the kenwood excelon KDC-X891, paid about $500 with installation and the ipod video cable. but it keeps going into protect mode so you have to reset all your display settings (i preset the audio settings). i looked over the installers job and everything is professional. the ONLY thing i can see is that the ipod's vidoe cable grounds out and shuts down everything.

so he's gunna have to send it in. this is why you want to spend the money on a deck, if it malfunctions you get the warrenty and all. i spent $140 on mine from a pawn shop and if it blows up...im screwed

I have that deck, it's excellent. Also, your brother probably didn't take it off demo mode. I didn't figure it out for a couple days and it kept resetting the audio settings until I turned it off.

Fosgate has great speakers. I agree with everyone else about the Infinity Kappa series on being the better of the two, but a component set (which I highly suggest since they come with tweeters and crossovers) from Fosgate will leave you not regretting your decision.

For headunits I would stay with Alpine, Clarion, or Kenwood. Stay away from Jensen, Dual, and pretty much every other h/u you can buy at K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Target, whatever.

Iam not going to be playing Bass Wars with any body. I not looking for a complex system, just someting above stock for a more clear richer sound.

You need one of these! Its the MTX Jackhammer I was telling you about. It will handle 6,000 watts continuous, and 12k max. It weighs 369 pounds. Oh, and you'll need about $7,500 to buy one.

Ya ill put 6 in the bed of my truck, and cook my butt to death from the heat of the amps in the cab. 300 watts is more than enought for me..

you could get a 2 or 4 channel amp to power your door speakers. That will give you good bass and sound.

Alot of people don't know this, but you can't run Infinity Kappa series off of head units. They're 2 ohm speakers. Head units will have problems running them. The internal amps are not 2 ohm stable.

OK, Ive been talking to a custom car audio guy that lives near me on what i should use for my components . Well here what i came up with...
The head unit will be the Pioneer DEH-P3900MP, and for the speakers TS-A6871R, now for the sub a TS-W251R, Iam still looking on what type of amp iam going to use. Anyways Iam thinking that this would be plenty enough for what i want.

Well, talked with my stereo guy again the other day, and were only going to use the Pioneer DEH-P3900MP head unit only and not the pioneer speakers and amp.
