Running amp power wire through the firewall

I have a '96 2.3 and I want to run my power wire to my amp. Just wondering where the most simplest spot in the firewall is to do that.

I ran mine through the steering shaft grommet. Now, you being a I-Beam/TTB truck, I don't know how your firewall is. But i ran my 4ga wire through a slit through the grommet around the steering shaft. Just be sure it is unable to get tangled aroudn the shaft....that wouldnt be good. hope i helped.

On my 03 Ranger I did. I ran them thru a rubber grommet it had just next to the steering column. After pulling down the carpet behind the gas/brake pedals I seen a couple of unused spots to bring wires thru. I'll be adding one to my new 04 Ranger soon!

I just ran mine through the main harness gromet in my 06. It was the simplest point i could find.

i used the grommet for the hood latch, i just cut a slit and stuffed the wire through it.

one of the grommets i used. only because i didnt have a spare grommet to add. i will be redoing mine and drilling a hole up higher to run other wires through also. wait till the day you drill 1 1/2 hole in your firewall for a 0/1 gauge grommet, that was a fun time.

drilled a hole in my fire wall and did it that way, then a while ago i found a nice hole in my X-cab, behind the jump seat which im pretty sure is stock becuase its way too perfect to be rusted through like that, but im going to just zip tie all my wires up and run it through that hole so i don't have to worry about pinching it with my clutch, well, assuming i get that damn thing running some day

I think i used the hole and grommit for the hood latch cable too. Seemed the easiest for where i wanted to place my wires

Punch your own hole

It may be more work, but your truck is worth the extra work, and a $2 grommet "or free if you ask them nice. I usually come up through the floor close to my amp location. If you can, drill at an angle to avoid a pinch where the wire bends.

On my '09 ran the 4g through a rubber plug under the ac plenum then down the right side to a power block
Did it so all the power would be down the rocker and signal on the right side of the transmission tunnel

Clutch grommet?

1994 Ford Ranger w/ auto transmission
I wonder if this is the clutch grommet? Thinking of prying it out and running my 0 gauge amp wire through there. Anyone know if that's a good plan? Thanks!
