well i started to build my new sub box today.. you can pretty much see what it's going to look like once it's done. i went sealed this time instead of ported.. i'd rather have SQ than SPL. my last box was ported.. and i barely ever had it maxed, so i didn't need to build another ported.

the pic's are self explainitory pretty much. the last pic was taken to show the room behind my seat this time. the driver's seat is clicked back as far as it will go, and i have a couple inches to spare this time!

nah, maybe to encase the amp rack, but im not sure if im going to do anything like that just yet.

for that curve in the 2 enclosures, im going to cover it in luan (sp?). i was going to wrap it in fleece and fiberglass the hell out of it. but this way is less time consumming. hopefully ill have more pics later in the week as i progress. thanks for the compliments guys

im trying to avoid fiberglass for right now. that open face part of the box is going to be covered by luan. its a bendible wood. once i get that, im going to mount a trim ring (for the sub to mount to) onto the curved area, and cut out the hole for the sub. im then going to create the flush curve around the ring with kitty hair.. then after that.. sand sand sand. once its all smooth, im going to paint it a flat black, with a flat clear over it, so itll match the black plastic in the truck (radio bezel, door trim, etc.)

i wrapped some pieces today in material. i had to stop working on it though.. right after i took these pics.. it started to poor, so i couldnt get the box out of the truck without it getting soaked. here's a couple pics to show how it fits in the back.

about the above pics:

that's grey vynal on the sides.. it matches pretty damn close to the actual vynal in the truck. the amp rack is wrapped in black velvet. the only part left to build is the face to the enclosures!

hopefully this weekend, i should have it finished. once i do have it done, i can then start to take out my headliner, so i can wrap that in black velvet too. it will then match the amp rack, as well as the glove box, the passenger airbag, and door panels (not done yet either ((probably in the fall))). after that.. all that's pretty much left is my center console im going to design, overhead console, and black carpeting (maybe). once i get all that done, who knows what else ill think of.. might redesign another box by then, lol.

Looks pretty good so far. Did you use my box ideas at all? looks similar. The only thing is that your amp racks may not be too good. It's going to keep alot of the heat from the amps right there and not let them ventilate too well. My rack is aluminum but not solid as your wood ones, mine is just a rectangular shape made from 2" wide pieces of alum. and hollow in the center. And I just installed 2 12v computer fans above the top rack which circulates the air nicely, and they light up blue, which matches the amp led's and cap. voltage readout.

And about the last post, you probably have the meanest components of anyone on this forum.

nah, the box itself came to me sunday morning as i woke up, lol.. i started to build it that day. i don't think i've seen your box yet honestly. if i have, i've forgotten what it looks like, lol. one thing good about eclipse, their **** is built bullit proof. i can have these amps full blown, and you'll barely feel any heat at all. i keep them set at around 60%, so they never get near a warm stage, let alone near any over heating or anything bad like that. the top shelf will obviously have enough space to vent. the bottom shelf, after the amp is in, has about 5 inches above it to vent.. i have them sloped like that to carry any heat up and out along the back, so there isnt any build up under there incase it does heat up for some reason some day. i have 2 blue neon lights that i love using- i was thinking about mounting one under the top shelf, to shine down on the bottom amp, but then id feel like the top amp is missing a light or something, so i dunno.. ill have to wait and think of something i guess. again, thanks guys for the comments!

Your amp is digital which explains why it doens't get real hot.

Yes, they are MBquart subs, theyre awesome, the best sq i've heard from 12's. I haven't heard alot though. They're rated down to 18htz. They have alot of power down low. MB says they have 500 watts of power handling, I don't know if its rms or max. I want to say they have about 300rms each, but could have 500, because i'm feeding them over 800rms from my SoundStream amp ( I know it's way underrated ) and can bottom them out with no problem at under half power of the amp.
I want to upgrade to the Premium model ones for the extra 100 watts, but I can't find anyone to buy mine.
