Sub wiring help

ok so im going over all the connections and whatnot and what wires goe where and i only dont understand one thing...so the RCA cable comes from the back of the cd player and it plugs into my input jacks on the back of the amp? what does the RCA cable do exactly? what plugs into the pre-out jacks on the back of the amp? something that needs to be plugged into the back of the cd player also? thanks

i dunno exactly what RCAs do but you got a set of black and red out the back of the player to the input of the amp

power wire on one side of vechile..make sure you run the RCAs on the opposite side of the power..

inline fuse on power

good ground

remote wire then should be good to go...

Rca comes out of pre outs on the back of the cd player, plug into the the amp rca input outlets, the the pre out on the amp are sendint another set of rca to another amp if you have to send another signal.....

what you runnin?

j18willis 06-03-2006 09:31 PM

just one 12 type R with a alpine 600 watt amp...

j18willis 06-03-2006 09:31 PM

the amp part number is mrd-m605

TrailRateThisFx4 06-03-2006 10:39 PM

yea im running 12" type s off 600 watt directed

j18willis 06-03-2006 10:54 PM

how many watts are the 12' type S's?

TrailRateThisFx4 06-03-2006 11:26 PM

300 rms - 900 peak, wired down to two ohms i will be pushing the sub around 400 if i got another sub i could wire it down to 1 ohm and push them both at 600.....

j18willis 06-04-2006 12:29 AM

so if i wanted to wire mine to 2 ohms i just do what we talked about at the start of the thread?

j18willis 06-04-2006 12:33 AM

i guess i dont understand the whole wiring thing at different ohms...i understand that ohms is the resistance in the circuit but why would u want more ohms ?wouldnt that take away from the total current going to the sub? whats the difference between the 4 ohm type r and the 2 ohm one?

TrailRateThisFx4 06-04-2006 05:56 AM

No you want less ohm's....if you have a type R in your truck you can wire it down to 0.5 ohm's but i dont think alpine amps really supply under 2 ohm's...what speaker did you get the dual voice 4 ohm or the dual voice 2 ohm.....cause thats going to make the difference on how to wire you sub and all.....

j18willis 06-04-2006 11:25 PM

2 ohm
