OK, heres what I've decided on with the whole system, not great but I just want a little bump for the movies & a fair amount of power to the components.

RangerJustin 10-26-2006 07:11 PM

dang.....that is nice! i need to up my sound...

RockysFord 10-26-2006 07:19 PM

Looks good, but why a 70x4?

Are those 10's or 12's?

Should be a clean set up

Rocky

RHuckster 10-26-2006 07:24 PM

Thanks guys.
The components are good up to 90W per channel so the Alpine should push them ok. The subs are 10" & are powered by the built in amp in the enclosure.
Like I said, not great & not a bunch of power like I usually lean towards but I think this should be enough for my needs.

Everythings ordered. The 2 sets of Components along with the H/U are now sitting here waiting to be installed.

Wow, that is sweet! How much did the sub enclosure run you? I looked at them a few times but never decided. I wanted to see how they fit. So can you take a picture once you get them in because that picture kinda sucks. Like maybe put a person back there for perspective. Thanks and good luck wiring everything.

Rick

oh that just sex right there.... i love my full tilt...

RHuckster 10-27-2006 09:23 PM

Thanks
The enclosure was pretty pricey. I looked for days & the best I found was $479 with subs & amp, think its like 6 something on Crutchfield & Sound Domain.
On the Tonneau I thought I was going to have to have 1 made up custom. Found it on Autoanything.com

wow, that sub enclosure looks pretty nifty. Not my style, but looks freakin awesome, hah. Your system is pretty dang crazy. I would love to see your truck (with it's million mods) someday at some meet. thanksgivings maybe?

RHuckster 11-01-2006 11:24 AM

Thanks
Well, starting today, painting the new radio surround today & tomorrow I'll start installing the components in the doors & paint the black section of the door panels to match the surround. Still waiting on the wiring pig tails but they should be here today. I'll try & take pics as I go.

Rick

lifted97ranger 11-01-2006 11:26 AM

you got pics? you can't tease!

RHuckster 11-01-2006 11:28 AM

lol, nothing to take pics of yet except the surround which should be done in about an hour. I'll post pics of that if you want but its only a radio surround.

zabeard 11-01-2006 11:29 AM

wow, that is going to be NICE! i like the enclosure. you are adding mods like mad. haha

RHuckster 11-01-2006 11:44 AM

Thanks.
I want to be done with everything but the SC & headers by April 07 which is 1 year from the time I bought it. Theres a big show then that I would like to attend which I've always shown my F-150 until this year because it was sold.
Heres some pics of the new surround painted, still needs 1 more coat of clear.

Marcaronio 11-01-2006 11:46 AM

Those Thunderform sub enclosures from MTX fit really well. Unfortunatley when I bought one for my truck several years back I was really dissapointed by the amount of bass. Hopefully they have gotten better.

RHuckster 11-01-2006 11:47 AM

Well, I'm not needing pounding bass, just want some bump. I'm getting to old & deaf for ear deafening pounding bass.

Rick

Marcaronio 11-01-2006 11:52 AM

LOL! I know what you mean. I still have a pretty loud system from when I was younger and it is definitely affecting my hearing. My wife won't let me use it as an excuse for not listening to her though.

RHuckster 11-01-2006 04:23 PM

OK, heres the finished product, will wait until tomorrow to put the stuff back on it.
