Well my birthday is comming up so I have been buying things to try and finish off my interior sound. I found this Headunit and its not to high priced. Plus it has dual faces, front one slides down, and it has short video. A friend of mine has this exact deck, and it seems really nice and sounds nice. He has the same audio setup I do. (Besides headunits of course ) Anyway, I was just wanting some other input or peoples experience with this deck. I could possibly be ordering it today or tomorrow so I would appriciate any input. Thanks you

The specs seem pretty good. 23Watts RMS (if you don't have a 4 channel amp) is pretty good, the CD Signal to noise is good, so is the 4 volt pre-outs. I'm just hesitant on the fancy bells and whistles (like the display), they usually seem cool for a month or two, then get old. But you can probably check around and get the same deck for cheaper off ebay or www.ikesound.com

If you especially like how it sounds in your friend's ride, then I think you got your bases covered.

FM sensitivity is poor, if you listen to FM from distant stations this unit will not perform as well as others.

Don't get me wrong, I love Sony equipment. I have a full Home Theater made by them, digital cam corder, playstaytion, speakers, etc.

But, their headunits seem a bit cheap to me. The plastic feels thin, and the buttons don't have a quality feel. I looked at their lineup a few months ago, and wasn't impressed. Buttons way to small, and controls that didn't make sense. I'm sure the engineering inside is good stuff, but they don't seem as bulletproof as Alpine or Pioneer.

I have an older pioneer that I would still use if I didn't have my current stock 6 disc.
It's never given me any problems at all and it's been in a # of vehicles including my dad's old truck.

The Sony does look nice, and so does the options, but $265, isn't there something out there maybe for abetter price? I mean a stock 6 disc mp3 can go for about that much on ebay. just my $.02, good luck with whatever you do man.

What do they do? (plastic things behind wheel well)

I already have the stock 6-disc and I agree its great. I would just like a nice aftermarket unit. My stock one gets dull, I'm a fan of the bells and whistles :)

Thanks for all the comments though, I will keep my eye out to see what else is out there.

www.crutchfield.com is the best to compare stats on head units. Only problem is they don't carry much of the cheaper stuff.
