Upgrading stock center sub

I have a 2004 Ranger Edge with the Pioneer 6cd unit. There's a stock sub (8" maybe?) in the center console. It's pretty nice, but I was thinking about upgrading that sub. Would that be possible? Don't really want to spend a bunch of money on amps, new unit, speakers, etc if I can just buy a better sub and install it in the same place. Is it that easy? What are my options? Thanks

Bump.. is it as simple as a plug-n-play upgrade?

The center sub is a 6.5 inch. It will be hard finding one that is 6.5 and that isn't too deep for the stock enclosure. Also the stock amp probably isn't powerful enough to power a more powerful sub so it may sound quiet.

Kicker and JL make 6.5 inch subs if you want to try it.

Would either of these be a decent upgrade? I'm not looking for a huge improvement, but just a step up.

CVT65

COMPVT

Also, are the wiring connections the same as stock?

when i goto work tommorow ill pull up some diagrams of that console and see if they will fit. I bought them in pairs, I paid 130 bucks for those so im negotiable on price. Im also sure some other members can chime in and tell you how to get that stock sub out
