Question about subwoofer install....

Aight so I just got a good deal on a sub, amp, box, cables the works....here is my only question... does the factory 6 disc changer have RCA outputs on it or will I have to get an adapter...just figured I'd ask cause I really dont feel like pulling it out right now and dont want to start and find out I need an adapter....

replacing lugs with shorter lugs.. how to measure?

there are no RCA outputs on the stock HU

You will need a line level converter.

wowak, where do u get one of those? i just tapped the speaker output wire out the back of the HU and soldered them to my high level imputs on my amp, it looks really ugly tho and i wanna use RCA's instead

Most audio shops should carry them, thats where i got mine. You can also try best buy and circuit city, they might have them in stock.

Honestly I bought one at a speaker shop and it didn't work, but the one I got a WalMart did. Go figure.

i would really recomend getting a nice aftermarket HU. my stock one was good but i love the adjustibility of my alpine. specially for the sub and the speaker timing and everything. but if theres no money for it just get an adapter.

I'd get an aftermarket deck, but I love my CD6, 6 discs in the dash, you can't beat that.

im gonna get a new HU just for the pre-outs, i mean for $20-30 i might as well put that money towards a new HU, i just like the stock one because it is really easy to control everything, ive nvr had an aftermarket HU before, all my friends do and i cant figure anythin out on them lol

do the in line converter's come with wiring instructions...as far as which wire to tap into or is it one of those trial by error situtations....

I am pretty sher that they are labeled so you should not have a problem with it.

there is a sticky on GE.com that has what color wires go to each speaker

hold on i'll copy and paste...

EDIT:
Radio power and lighting
# 12V constant = lt. green/purple

# GROUND = black

# 12V hot in run = yellow/black

# lamp/dimmer = lt. blue/red


Speakers
# LF SPEAKER: (+) = org/lt grn, (-) = lt blu/white

# RF SPEAKER: (+) = wht/lt grn, (-) = grn/org

# LR SPEAKER: (+) = gry/lt blu, (-) = tan/yel

# RR SPEAKER: (+) = org/red, (-) = brn/pnk
