Audio guys: IN HERE
Im helpin my buddy out with picking his system and hes got a 98 blazer 4 door and i couldnt decide what would suit him better 2 10's or 1 15. He told me hes looking for some good deep bass so that obviously means he wants a ported box. I know theres one dude here that had a blazer with a hifonics amp and RE subs and traded it in for a Exploder, are you out there? what size sounds the best in a blazer?

A good 15" sub will pound really hard. If you buy a low quality 15, then your better off going w/ two 10's. But, a 15" sub is going to move more air, and pound out better bass than two 10's. Most of the time a good 15" sub will have a higher excursion too, which helps with the lower frequencies. And yea there's going to be crisper tighter bass w/ the 2 10's, but if you want bass, and not music go w/ the 15! What brands/models were you guys lookin at? You mentioned RE, i think if you went w/ an 8" RE sub you would be happy, their entire line of products is amazing.

yea re is now amazingly overpriced. and i used to be a REtard..
there are some 15" subs that have really good SQ as well as getting loud. i personally have heard a ported Adire Brahama Extream (made stronger for competion by scottie johnson) and that rocked hard, and pretty clean. you can check with adire for a non extrame version(the extream's were pretty rare)
I have a 15" Stereo Integertiy Mag 2. this thing pounds like you wouldnt believe, and still has pretty clean sound. it keeps up with the likes of slipkonts wait and bleed where he gets into the double kick. and also while geting pretty low. i am waiting to compare it to a jlw7 i think it is (guy on a local forum has one and i wanna compare with him)
http://realmofexcursion.com/videos/S...magnum15.4.wmv and that is sealed. i was extreamly impressed and pleased with this set up in my old 01 626
also there is a realateively new compay call FI. ran by the original designers of RE audio. they no longer work for RE after the buy out. i have heard lots of good things from them including their price. ficaraudio.com
sorry for the long *** post, but i hope i can help.

A single 12 would be deeper than the 10's and more sq than a 15.
If you are looking for an sq 15 image dynamics 15idq is not bad.
Personally I run and will always run 2 12s sealed.
Once you decide on the size then it boils down to price.
For cheaper subs I am a big fan of Adire shivas and Image Dynamics IDQ's.
For high price, RE XXX, Adire Brahma, Image Dynamics IDMAX.
Right now I have 2 IDMAX 12's and a JL 1000 amp. It is pretty good. I miss my old school orion amp and old school jl 12w6's though.

i think im the guy your talking about :)
but yea if RE wouldnt of done its price hikes i would still reccommend but not with the new prices, maybe used?
but a list of subs i would personally buy today if i had soem money
1) Fi Q 15 or SSD 15 www.ficaraudio.com
2) SI Mag www.stereointegrity.com
3) TC Sounds TC3000 www.tcsounds.com
these would be my top choices going for what yours looking at
all are right at 1000rms but can take more, all will have very nice lowend, except the SSD, it will be decent but overall loudness will be louder than the Q series, but its not going to suck on the lowend, just not the same category as the others
Fi is ran by Scott a designer who sold his part of the company, designed some new subs and now has his own company, i would bet the subs are just as good or better, but havnt used any yet
the TC 3k uses the 3hp motor, very nice motor
mag is an excellent sub
if you want more loudness i say try the FI BTL 15 or a TC 5200 if you can afford it, but both will need 2000+rms
i had my XXX in 4.5 cubes @32 hz with 50sq in port i think, it was nice, hard to remember it too much now, first decide which sub you want then go for a box size that will be optimal for it, you can squeeze a 15 in 3 cubes, but it will be peaky and not much lowend at all
any other questions just let me know

thats it, i couldnt rember the specifics. all i knew is that scottie johnson had something to do with them. a guy i know had one and i got to get a listen a little before he blew it (i am thinking dirty signal and was clipping it, because it wasnt because of power) i have my mag 2 in a 2.7 cube box i think (been a while since i built it)

give me a budget and i can steer you in the right way. like many who have pm'd me i have no product bias, i just have bias for good products no matter the brand. if i can get 8's to sound like 2-12's anything is possible.
more info would be helpfull

I didnt read all of the other posts but why not go with 1 12?
I finally got sucked back into the world of bass (once you go bass you never go back, even though i rolled stock for almost a year)
I bought a kicker 12, and it POUNDS, louder than my 2 -12's ever were....And right now its on a ****ty sony amp...
