ok ive tried everything to clean my headlight and nothin works. So ive decide that it must be on the inside, is there anyway to get the headlights apart to clen them??

 

most headlight are sealed an you will just break them takeing them apart i would say check ebay an find some new ones

have you tried wet sanding the lense with 2k grit paper and then buffing and waxing it afterwards? makes em smoooth and clean! also clay bar may work

 

yeah me and my brother tried that, worked alittle but it was still yellowish brown

 

the best thing to use believe it or not is plan toothpaste. Use it like a polish but apply a little extra elbow grease it will make them look like new

sounds like your headlights are nicotine colored.

 

ive done the toothpaste it really doesnt do all that much and w/e you do dont throw brake fluid on em i did that cuz somebody suggested it on another ranger forums dont get me wrong they looked great but after it dried it looked like my headlights where shaved i got some stuff called Blue Magic Plastic cleaner worked really good but you gotta use alot of elbow grease when i say alot i mean ALOT if you want it to look good

 

I was gonna suggest that Blue Magic. Works great for me. My wifes saturn was real bad and it took it off. I found that if I used a Mothers Power ball if saves on the elbow. Remember....if you read that bottle carefully...you have to redo it every 3 months. I am very happy with the outcome!!

 

I've always used chrome wheel polish. It works pretty well. you got to really work at it. It made my parent's '94 Escort lights look brand new....they were quite yellow colored.

if your gonna get new headlights with out the corner lights connected to them get diamond clears

 

you can always bake the lights in the oven, and seperate the lights, search for headlight mod and you will see the temp to use, and procedure

 

i got a product from shucks it is called like plastic renew ... it was only like 7 bucks.. and if you want it to look the best sand it with 2k grit sand paper and then apply the stuff like every 3 months...

 

you've probably already tried it, but I have always hade good luck with a product called Plastix. I think its made by meguires. If you havent tried it give it a shot.

 

plastic renew owns, ive done headlights like that.. its amazing, but kinda pricey =(

 

ha! just checked my garage and the product i use is bluemagic headlight lense restorer... and it was only like 7 bucks... it works great... not saying that other products dont, but i have had success.

like 200 or 250 sand paper, and the blue magic headlight lens restorer....

you don't have to buy this headlight restore kits/polishes. If you have any kind of rubbing compound try that first. Or this may be a surprise to some, try Chrome polish, that will actually work just as well as rubbing compound

 

Chrome polish does amazing on headlights.... sorta late on this I suppose, but I had to clean out my headlights on my old Ranger.. and I took some polish to it.. rubbed it in real good, let it sit until it dried a bit, then polished it off with a paper towel, and it did wonders..!

 

or buy new ones....it would look better.

 

Oh yes, that is definatly an option as well :-)
