clay bar lubricant alternatives

hey i ran out of lubricant, anyone found anything they've used in place of it, the reason i ask is because the clay is still good, not junked up or anything. i could think of quite a few things that might work but i figured someone else had already found something.

i actually prefer soapy water, it's a better lubricant IMO

i just mix up some soapy water in a spray bottle, some use dish washing detergent b/c it helps break down the wax, but i think it breaks down the claybar too, i'm not sure

I clay barred my truck for the first time last week... I can't believe I haden't ever done that before. My 9... almost 10 year old paint feels and looks (minus the small scratches and stuff) like new. And it was sooooo easy.... spray, rub the clay, wipe... wax the truck when you're all done and BAM! New ride!

claybarring: after you wash your truck you get a little wad of clay and it comes with lubricant, you spray lubricant and the clay just slides around, it really smooths out the surface and shines. it removes basically anything, even claims to remove paint dusting but i couldn't picture that. after you do it you gotta wax it because it strips it pretty good.

it remove contaminats from your paint, like small rocks and pine sap... gives your truck a really smooth feel...

it all depends on how much you drive and the area you drive in that would contribute to the contaminates... but they recomend like 1-2 times a year so you dont destroy your paint....
