Cleaned up the 97 today

Since my 97 is up for sale after picking up the 05 FX4 last weekend, I decided I'd wash & wax it. I used Meguiar's claybar and Meguiar's Gold Class wax, Meguiar's Hot Rims metal polish (w/Mothers Powerball applicator) on the Centerline wheels, and Meguiar's Hot Rims tire dressing. I finished off the interior with Meguiar's #39 cleaner & #40 conditioner. I'm going to miss this one when it's been gone, she's been a good truck.

Buy new floor mats & stock tails and it would sell fast with gas getting closer and closer to $4!

try www.craigslist.org

The new owner can put new floor mats in it if they want. Below the ones you see are the original mats in near perfect condition

I went with the Flowmaster 50 Series Delta Flow so it's actually pretty quiet. I can't stand a loud 4 or 6 cylinder-I just wanted something just a little louder than stock. If I want "loud", I'll jump in my 03 Mach 1 with O/R h-pipe & Borla Stinger catback

Ah, i see. Well truck looks great. Anything you'd recommend for interrior? My new truck has like 2" of dust lol and ciggarette butts. I have a shop vac to help but id like to leave the dash and stuff nice and clean, and shiny. I cant stand a messy truck. Has to be clean.

Looks good. I wouldn't mind having it. I have been wanting a lowered truck for a while.

Begin by vacuum everything-you're shop vac is perfect for this I use Meguiar's #39 HD Vinyl Cleaner to remove marks, stains, etc from any of the interior plastics. To protect, I use Meguiar's #40 Vinyl Conditioner. That is what I use. Cigarette ash is the probably one of the most difficult things to remove (along with the smell). The previous owner of my 05 smoked in the truck and I'm going to probably pull the seats out and shampoo them and then do the same to the carpet. Good luck. Check out Meguiar's Online Forum for lots of helpful people & suggestions.

Thanks. Most of the butts are on the floor, the dash is mainly dust, like 1/2" of dust lol. The smell dont bother me too bad because all my vehicles, people smoked in. But thanks for the link. Can i buy this stuff at a walmart? or where would you buy it?

I've never seen it locally. I ordered it directly from Meguiar's.

If all goes well, it'll be sold tomorrow. A local guy (actually a Ford tech from the dealership I bought my 05 from) came by to see it tonight & is supposed to bring me a check tomorrow night. I'm glad to sell it so quick, but will definitely miss it. It's hard to believe I've owned it 9 years as of this month.

That just adds to the list of good looking, silver 97's on this board. I wish mine was that clean.

Some of the basic Meguire products can be bought at Kmart/Wal-Mart, but for a bigger selection you probably have to go to a major auto parts place such as AutoZone. Even then they have so many products, they probably carry just the minimum stuff.
