when you peel it off pull away from the direction you are peeling, for example if you are peeling towards the back keep your hand in front of where you are peeling and pull forward otherwise you will leave behind all sorts of stickiness. if you pull against it it will come off clean and you will have nothing to clean up..

use a heat gun to pull off the stripe, then use a clay bar to remove the glue. Use the claybar on your whole pickup. It will take off tree sap or dirt. Some claybar come with a detail spray, or just use soapy water. You can buy a claybar set anywhere.
