i took my EDGE decal off like the night i got my truck. me and a friend basically took the entire thing off with our finger nails. then, we lightly just used rubbing compound, and did the whole area where the decal was.. then, for the hell of it, i waxed the entire truck. you could never tell where the sticker was after that. even before the rubbing compound, it didnt really leave a difference.

it may be different for your truck tho, so dont go and take it off because of my one lucky experience and get dissappointed! good luck!

EDIT: oh, and welcome to the site!

OK for having a older year ranger your paint is slightly faded there no way around it. if you have the orange color. dont even do it, it fades BAD. if not ok lets get started.

get a heat gun put heat on the decal not to much to hirt the paint. then start taking it off it should come off fairly easy. then when there is still the adhesive you can spray WD40 on the paint let it sit for a secound then start rubbing it off. the WD40 seems to lossen it well.

ok if it is faded pick up some meguiars polishing and a polishing wheel and go to town on the paint and buff it out.

i took one of the pinstripes off the side of my truck and didn't have any type of fading, and mines a 2001. and where i live the summer is always sunny. i wouldn't push it to taking off my side graphics but it prolly depends on the color (like mentioned above) and yours is older 2...

Pinstripe is evil unless it's an actual painted Pinstripe. I guess im lucky because i've never seen white fade, loose it's shine yes, fade no.

So if I have an 03 White, it should be fine to take off? Im sure there will be a little bit of discoloring, but with a little effort with the polisher and a buffer I should be fine?

Get off the sticky stuff and wash and I bet you can't tell where it was. You got an 03 there shouldn't be any fading on that thing yet.
