You think you spend a lot of $ on detailing supplies? Check this out (have your international currency converters handy)...

And here I was complaining about a $10-$20 container of wax. :)

She might get jealous if you start massaging your truck with your hands.

$0.. I get it all free from work. Along with all sorts of paints and lubricants. I lost a good job this past Christmas and had to take a crappy job at a hazardous waste depot. It doesn't pay much. But at least I get free stuff. People throw out all sorts of brand new stuff when they move and stuff.

Well, how much you spent was actually a rhetorical question in pointing out the ridiculous costs mentioned in the video.

However, since my wording in the OP sucked and you guys have graciously responded, I did a rough tally of what I spent in the last couple weeks. Probably a little over $50 and I'm not quite done yet.

My old truck I didn't do much for in regards to cleaning. I picked up the '05 a couple weeks ago and am suffering from "new car syndrome" and spending too much time on it.

It's been what seems like forever since I've had a detail worthy vehicle. So many new products and techniques have seemed to come about in the last few years. At least I've never heard of them before.

Can you make our own chamois from critter hides? That'd help us in these economic times.

I got some Mother's detailing products for Christmas a couple years ago, but those are the only car wash supplies I have. Its probably worth about $30 but I hardly ever wash my Ranger so I don't even really need the stuff haha.

I spend $1700 a week on detailing products for my truck and wash and wax my truck 3 times a day. Very limited budget unfortunately :(
