Sweet dude! Looks damn good! Lol Get em on!
Bling Bling!!
That's a great idea. |
If I use this on my tool box, do you think it'll hurt the paint when i rinse it off?
Remove the toolbox then do it???!
Yea, but I was hoping I wouldnt have to do that. It's loaded pretty good, and noone to help lift it.

Take some 0000 steel wool for them, thats what I had to do. That and Mothers polish. Here's mine before:

Are you sure there wasn't a clear coating on there before that was oxidizing? I know some tool boxes have a coating on them.
i would think you have to add the clear coat if you haven't yet. just to keep it protected. as for rims/wheels, i think this would definately kill the clear coat on them.
mike especially with yours, your shoud prep the surface if you wanna keep the black on there. good luck with this though. it seems to work. |
There was definitely something on the box... Some sort of coating... I'd rather polish them once a month than clear them... Looks better that way anyways..
Yeah I wouldn't use this on something with clear coat on it. My rims are just pure uncoated aluminum so they should be fine.
sick job. dunno if its work the effort im gettin new rims soon anyway lol
i stumbled across something similar to this, i went looking around the house for a cleaner to clean my old diamondplate toolbox....found oven cleaner...it almost does the same effect...prolly not as good as what you used....just wanted to see what otheres used to help me polish and clean my new toolbox...i got it last year new at lowes...its starting to fade already...damn aluminum....
make sure you clear them again after you polish them, they had clear on them, thats what you removed
I didn't re clear mine, and they're still shiny!
If I only saw this yesterday before I painted my toolbox black! :006:
awesome man...U r full of creativity :P
so if i spray this on my tool box, it'll take the clear right off?
i dont want to spend forever trying to scrape it all off with steel wool, i was debating getting it line-x-ed. but if this stuff will take the clear right off, i'll probably just paint it black and clear that, much much cheaper |
might try it on my bumper
heh.....he used his mothers ball......hehehe

"Polished" wheels are pure >polished< aluminum......clear coated wheels are machined, then cleared with powdercoat. As with all factory wheels, you can tell when corrosion eats "underneath" the clear coat and it starts flaking off. So stripping off the clear when its unecessary is a bad idea. Unless you want to have to continue to polish them all the time...
