need paint scratch help
Yeah I got little scratches too.....and I was wondering the same thing.
I remember a thread a while ago and someone said something about a polish/wax in a tan bottle.....they said it worked great.....but I could never find it again....

If anyone would be nice enough, please cover all the types of scratches and chips. I dunno where to look to help me truck
1. very find scratches, just sortof scratching the outside coating but not really the paint
2. scratches that show up white, but not significantly deep
3. Scratches that you can feel, are deep(relative to depth of paint)
4, big ol' scratches, that go through paint and that underlayer
5. tiny dots, such as where someone shot a rock onto your hood and it chinked a spot.
6. Big rock chips, from offroading. By big I mean 2 mm across, a very noticeable chip where all the paint came off, leaving white.
Thanks, I hope this isn't some wierd sort of threadjack heh.

im gunna use my limited detailing experence....
1)wax/polish should get out the super small stuff
2)very fine scratchs you can use colored waxes....
3)im gunna say some sort of filler, then touch up paint and wet sand, the polish
4,5,6) not a clue, go to the body shop

If there deep and thru the clear coat and into the base color or below you’ll need to use touch up paint. or if the base color is good you could try using just a clear coat touch up. To get it almost perfect you’ll need to build it back up (over several coats) to the surrounding surface and use either a very light compound or Meguiars Scratch X depending on how large an area it covers. If its just light scratches in the clear coat use the Meguiars Scratch X first and see if that gets them out.
Other than that you might try one of those waxes with color in it, but that wont last.

I've got a bunch of good ole' split wood scratches all over both bedsides. I had a full load of split wood and grandma and her neighbor lady unloaded it (I was at home they were 140miles away and dad had the truck so i couldn't help unload it). I just bought Nu Finish Scratch Doctor and will give it a try whenever this damned Oregon rain in the middle of the summer stops. I'll let you know. I think Turtle Wax has a product for it too.
