i love the quarter wash after going mudding. i dont have to wash off my driveway and the high pressure rinse is really nice. also while im rinsing my truck i pop the hood and let the engine cool so i can get in there with some engine degreaser. the green stuff does wonders on mud and just an overall dirty engine and its alright if you get a little on your windshield or paint and it cleans off the fabric mounted under your hood.

for all of you wondering the quarter wash is the thing where you go into a bay and put quarters into a thing that dispensing water, cleaning agents and other such. usually found at gas stations.

one thing though...i didnt let my engine cool down enough the first time i went through and now i have a minor oil leak. easily fixed though.

 

They're very nice if you're in a hurry. Last time i visited one, it was so cold out the foamy brush was frozen in all of the bays. So i sprayed it down with soapy water and was forced to wash my entire truck in 25 seconds with my wax applicator pad. Then with 20 seconds left to rinse. I was exausted.

 

ha ha, when im lazy i go to the quarter wash too, but i always rinse out the brush very well for about 20 seconds before rubbing on my truck with it...

 

I only like them after mudding, and now in the winter i used to have to wait till its above 32deg to wash the truck, then i found an indoor heated one thats $5 for 25min or $11 for an hour. and its 75deg in there and u can wax and wash the truck and dry it off and use your own products. its so nice in the winter.

 

holy crap id love one of those!! at least around here the water is heated in the car wash bays, so the mist warms you up some, its not so bad. id love to find an indoor one like youre talking about though, and thats a good price too

 

I use these type of wash bays every time because I dont have high enough water pressure at my house. I use the presoak, soap, rinse, spot free spray, then use my Meguiars 'Quick Wax', hand dry my whole truck with clean towels, spray my Armor all tire foam on all four tires, dry my wheels, dry my tires and sometimes apply a second coat of tire foam to give it a better wet look.

We dont have any indoor washers like that around here, but my friends dad just build a massive warehouse and put a wash bay in the inside so it will be nice and toasty to wash in, I'm excited.

 

ive never seen or heard of an indoor wash bay. i bet its nice. i dont ever completely wash my truck in those things. its water, degreaser and leave. fellow mudders are in there and the brushes just look dirty and deformed so theyre not touching my truck. anyone tried one of those sponge towels? "absorbs like a sponge, acts like a towel" i love mine and it doesnt leave marks like a regular towel would.

i use flannel rags to wash wax and wipe off the wax and to hand dry it i use my sponge towel. nothing even slightly abrasive is used on my truck

 

I bought one of those microfiber sponge towels aswell. It's the best thing i've ever used. It's supposed to hold like 5 or 8 pounds of water or something.

 

i dont know about 5 or 8 lbs. i squeeze mine out alot cuz it leaves water trails but it does hold better then a towel and dries the truck very nicely

 

Buy an 8 pack of microfiber towels at walmart, and you won't look back. Awesome for drying and waxing.

Just be careful when you are using high pressure washer under the hood, and try not to get water into electrical parts (I.E. The alternator). Also do not spray hot engine parts. Exhaust manifolds can crack if you hit it with water right after you park it.

i like the quarter wash too, but we have Lazer Wash around here...u pull in, it washes everything for u, rims/tires/paint/everything. takes about 10 minutes, and finishes up with a spot free rinse....very pimp...that way u can get the truck bling-bling and still have IQT with the lady friend...

 

Yeah, i also want to hear more of this Indoor Car Wash. Sounds intresting...
