Removing badges

I am sure I am right about this, but just in case: Do the badges on the front fenders have locating prongs that require holes in the fenders?

I am sure they do, but just thought I'd ask.

Also, has anyone acetoned their fender badges to get the total chrome look? It is a big thing among the Lightning guys.
