Removing Stripes

hey guys, my truck has the ugly blue/teal pinstripe and i was wondering what to use to remove it. i have heard of people using one of those erasers but idk if that will go through the paint easily. thanks

3m makes an air wheel that will buzz the stripes right off and not mess with your paint. your best DIY solution would be a hair dryer razor blade and goo off/ goo gone (adhesive remover)

A can of either one of these will get it off, you can get it at any auto parts store

i used a heat gun on mine, it was 8 years of chipted and faded pinstripe. a razor blade and heat gun work nicely just take your time and dont cut up your paint.

I used a hair dryer and my finger nail, worked good. Then used some wax once I got all the striping off...

if you bubble your paint with a heat gun you dont deserve to ever touch a vehicle, how you wouldnt realize that youre putting way to much heat on the paint i have no idea.

personally its as easy as putting some heat on sections of the pinstripe and pulling up and away while moving the heat down the stripe. no need to spend money on an eraser wheel or use a razor blade.

A heat gun will be fine if your not an idiot.

When I took mine off, I used one. It wasn't bad at all. Don't use your thumb nail to take it off though. My thumbs killed for a good 2-3 days afterwards lol. And don't use a razor blade. All it takes is one careless look away and your paint is ruined.

Those 3M rubber wheels are great for taking the left over glue off, but I found that I burned through them too quickly when I tried to remove the actual striping.

mgn - I dont think putting up a sig with just advertising another forum is a good idea - along with the fact that:

You arent taking the credit to the proper folks that actually designed this forum; I wont bash that its a ranger site, but i -think- it may be slightly against the rules on here?

if you dont want to spend any money you can just put your truck in the sun or (hair dryer) and use rubbing alcohol then wash
