Like many today, I washed and waxed and detailed the truck today taking advantage of the beautiful weather. I rolled out of bed at 10:30, threw on some deodorant and my flops and grabbed the wash bucket lol. I started at 10:45. Finished at 4:00

My Process:

Wash with Meguiar's Deep Crystal Car Wash
Cleaned wheels, tires, and engine with Simple Green and various brushes
dried using microfiber towels (go over twice)
waxed using AutoGlym High Definition Wax
Wiped engine plastic down with Meguiar's Natural Shine
vacuumed
detailed interior with Meguiar's Natural Shine
Cleaned glass with off brand Glass Cleaner
Polished wheels with Meguiar's Hot Rims and Meguiar's DynaCone
Final wipe down with Meguiar's Quick Detailer

Then I changed the oil in her and installed some new Pioneer speakers!

Nasty whore hasnt been waxed since September

Looks so good. Man those rims rock when they are cleaned up.

korey89 06-25-2011 10:10 PM

If only I were half as motivated as you. It's been a year since I waxed my truck and I think three weeks since a wash? Although it's been raining a lot and all it takes is me to drive through one puddle and the truck is covered in dirt. The disadvantage of having tires that stick out past my flares an inch or two. Looks good though, if I was local to you I'd let you clean mine haha

YES they do. They really need to be removed for a better polishing, but I was already doing too much today. You see all that nice Pisgah dirt all over the engine LOL

djfllmn 06-26-2011 05:49 AM

looks good scott...i need to detail my engine...any pointers for doing that

Scrambler82 06-26-2011 06:09 AM

Looks good all cleaned up.
The engine looks good, can’t seem to get to that level.

SteelDirigible 06-26-2011 06:11 AM

how many miles on it?

truck is ridiculously clean.

dixie_boysles 06-26-2011 07:00 AM

Lol Miss Sara was at work, hence why I got to spend all day rubbing on my other love lol.

As for the engine, all I did was cover up the distribution box, alternator and coil pack with aluminum foil and then spray the motor down with Simple Green. Took a soft bristle wheel brush and scrubbed everything. Then rinsed.a.d then sprayed with simple green again and repeated. Took a towel and dried everythng off. Then took Meguiar's Natural Shine and wiped all the plastic down.

Steel, I'm at 84k miles

StxDangerRanger 06-26-2011 07:09 AM

Not bad looking, I just got some of that AutoGlym, i'm gonna give it a try today. Pics to follow,
How do you like that stuff for the tire shine? i've never tried it but wanted to. I usually use Black Magic, but that doesn't get inbetween the outer sidewall treads really well.

Timberwolf 06-26-2011 07:50 AM

Wirelessly posted (Timberwolf)

Hard work does pay off. Great job dooder.

FULLSCALE 06-26-2011 08:44 AM

Damn that doesn't look like it has half that many miles on it!
