Vinyl floor is out and it on the back of the truck drying in the sun. the padding kinda got stuck to the floor of the truck. so i thru some of it out. I cleaned all the connectors with electrical parts cleaner for added protection and some dabs of die electric grease. I was wondering do i need the padding or not?

 

I am pretty sure it is just there to cut down on noise/vibration and make it a little padded so its not as hard as metal. You should be fine.
