Does anybody have any good methods of getting rid of water spots on windows?? Mine aren't bad yet but I want to stop them before they get really bad..Thanks :)

 

Windex and Newspaper.

 

the newspaper is only a temporary fix, the ink from the paper fills the imperfections, but they will come back. i would try a clay bar first, if that doesnt work then they are probably permanent etching and would have to be polished out.

 

I had a pretty bad problem with water spots that no glass cleaner could fix. I used a product called "Bar Keepers Friend". It comes in a can like Comet, but it is a very mild abrasive and worked well with some elbow grease. It took a couple applications, but it worked.

 

also use stoner's glass cleaner... and a scrub pad.... should work

 

eagle one 20/20. the spots dont go away completely but they are invisible to the naked eye until you look at the window from a very odd angle. i use the stuff on mirrors and windows and it is so very nice.

Windex and steel wool.. I used it on mine.. worked great!

 

GM Window cleaner doesn't work. No surprise there.

best thing i have found and it works fantastic is glass science, glass scrub, its sold at shucks by the wiper blades, new cream cleaner. Use a sponge and water, green sided ones work great on the hard spots. It was the only product i tried that actually worked. , its in a small black bottle about the size of chrome polish bottle.

 

I worked detailing cars last summer and for water spots we used this bottle that said 'Y2K Acid' and we weren't supposed to spray it on anything but windows and we couldn't breathe it and we had to wash it off seconds after spraying it on (which makes me believe it was real acid, lol). It worked every time.

 

I am one of "Those people - Yeah, it's dirty but the rain next week will wash it clean." I just figured out I should at least wash a car to get rid of road salt (Rest in peace, Avalanche). So I am considering going for a 2024 Ranger in a lighter color or white. Any suggestions for a Paint it once when new then forget about it for 10 years? I don't mind a little dirt showing on the car as long as it is not damaging the metal.
