Turbocharger kits for Duratec Ford Focus
I second the Focus Sport (now FSWERKS) recommendation. They've made a very good name for themselves in the Focus and Fusion communities. Those guys make quality stuff.
That 2.3L Duratec in your Ranger is a direct descendant of the 2.3L and 2.5L Duratec 4-cylinders powering the Focus, Fusion, and Escape, just with an iron block and different cam profiles befitting its role as a truck motor. If a vendor can tune a Focus for a turbo, a Ranger should be pretty easy for them.

so i cant use this kit http://www.jgstools.com/turbo/thk.html and buy a turbo kit off of ebay and make it work without tuning the motor
Anyone that wants to put a turbo on a ford ranger can contact Modern Muscle Inc. I have talk to them about putting a turbo on my truck and they told me that they can do it. Here is their information

I'm a noob here at R-F, but hardly a noob around anything with a Blue Oval on it. So, I'll say no more about Mr. Meyers... and yes, he and I have met before.
yeah you should never put a turbo on an untuned engine plus my buddy slapped a turbo on his 03 edge and he only got like 75hp our trucks arent really designed for that kinda of performance increase if you want more power try engine thats what i did dropped a 94 5.0 mustang engine in my b4000 tremendous gains
Three is a 1st gen turbo ranger running around by me. But I can never kind him to take a look at the set up. But I kno ppl that he has races and it's the same 2.3 I got in my '87. With a neon srt-4 intercooler. But I don't kno wat kind of internals
a company called F2USA is using my truck to build a turbo for the ranger 2.3L duratechs in February. U really need to replace the pistons with forged components but u can get away with running about 5PSI on a stock 2.3l duratech....but just spend the few extra $ and do it the right way. and the turbo's and manifold do not work on the rangers due to the different setup and the focus's are front wheel drive. almost a completly different engine
ive been playing with the high rpm cams from comp cams and making 303 HP and forged crank rods and pistons with .02 overbore and high flow electric pump for coolant
you dont have to delete the AC with either setup, I deleted the ac as weight reduction as I race this ranger at 140 mph around a track for NASA (national autostart associaction) specificically in time attack events, turbos lose their capability the further away from the exhaust source because the exhaust cools the further it goes down, you can mount a turbo much closer to the frame and retain the oem manifold witch actually flows pretty decently but fir the supercharger must belt drive it somehow, likely replace the powersteerimg pump or mount it in that area but the supercharger drops power at 4000 or more because it doesn't flow enough air with a proper 2:1 overdrive on it as the blowers redline is 12k , stick with the turbo setup its much easier to do than trying to reliably use and mount the super unless you are dead set of having a super whine and won't go over 4k
This is my setup using the MS6/3 exhaust manifold and a larger than stock turbo but im still improving it just waiting in a mass of parts first then knock it all at once

Not exactly, you still have to weld in an adapter somewhere down the line to allow the turbo to hookup i was saying you could mount it by the frame and transmission,, a turbo is not a direct bolt on you have ti have a flange for what ever size you have
