Broke 30mpg last tank

I generally track every tank of gas in all my vehicles. The previous 5 tank average for my 5 speed manual Ranger was 28.88 mpg. It is an 06 that I bought a little over a year ago. It came out to 30.3 mpg on this last tank. I live in the sticks so it is kind of like highway driving. Also found a station not too far away that sells real gas without the ethanol mixed in it. Just had to brag a little on my Ranger.

As stated, an 06, and unless he's lying about the mpgs it is a 2.3

Yes a 2.3l. Had it all covered I thought but the miles. Truck just rolled 55k. Might not do it again but I fill up at the same station and generally let it click three times. Might not do it again but I was pretty impressed just the same. Heck my Subaru Brat only beats it on average by a little less than .5 mpg.

The 2000 F150 supercab I use to have did better than that!! I generally drive pretty easy and use cruise a lot. We generally beat the EPA highway rating on average with every vehicle we have ever owned. I think the lack of stop signs and stop lights out here in the sticks really helps a lot. I still never expected my little Ranger to break 30 mpg and really didn't do anything different that I am aware of.
