Saw this somewhere and was wondering if this actually does anything?

I always wondered what that extra plastic sack was next to the intake by the engine but wondering if anyone has removed it?

Seems like doing this above would increase noise?

I know they are there to increase volumetric efficiency. I've read somewhere before removing it won't cause any noticeable changes in driveability.

I ended up removing them a couple months ago and putting those plugs in above. No noticeable difference at all and cleans up the engine bay nicely.
