Gas Gauge and Engine temp Gauge stopped working
Hey guys 2006 Ranger 2.3 litre engine
both of the gauges mentioned in header stopped working. It had a new fuel pump I installed it in July of last yr. Has been working fine till a few days ago.
ran a scan test in instrument cluster. Performed fine sweep. Gauges worked fine. Inspected all fuses in smart junction box. Can’t find any blown fuses. Inspected coolant temp sensor back of engine block
2 pole when going to inspect sensor was all corroded seperated. I installed a new sensor factory part. No change. Temp gauge still reads zero. But it needed it so got that done. Removed truck bed. Tried another fuel pump sensor. Not submerged key on moved the float no change still reads empty. Last ditch effort removed instrument cluster. Inspected all wiring looks good. Disconnected and recommend both connectors.
no change. Even removed PCM main connector. To look for corrosions or anything out of the ordinary no change. Also disconnected and reconnected smart junction box no change.
If anyone has ran into this let me know. Broken ground on wire harness maybe 🤷🏽♂️
thanks again.
