100% locked in hubs?

found this and was thinking about doing it but not sure if it works. Anyone done this? Does it work? and is there any explanation of why this works?

Hubs and axels off a 98-01 awd explorer 5.0 are bolt up like a 70 bucks mod from junk yard. Not sure on years just guessing but my friend did the mod to get rid of the air hubs.

I did that mod a few weeks ago because i broke a manual hub and had to go back to my vaccume hubs, but my vaccume system has been disabled. Doesnt take to long to do and is faily easy. The hubs are locked all the time so all of the front drive line is always turning. I will go back to manual hubs when i can afford it, but will keep my modded PVH hubs for back ups.

The AVM/Mile Marker Kit is like $150 (Link here

Its simple to do. I did it recently to my truck and I kept the original center caps to keep over them so its incognito (and plan to keep the ones when i get new wheels/tires too)

Unless you Go Solid Axle with Manual hubs, or the Setup from an 01+ ranger (CV's and Hubs) then you'll never been able to 100% lock in hubs AND keep 2wd. The problem with the above described process is that the front driveline is fully turning which would cause some pretty unnecessary wear and add extra mpgs.

Yea Yea. Mine say AVM on them so there.

I googled it and that was the first site to come up that wasn't Amazon. I don't think i could buy car parts from the same place I buy books.

It is still capable of 2wd, but the front driveline will be turning constantly just like the live axle set up from 2001-present. It will only be in 4wd if the switch is turned to 4wd or 4Lo
