2.9\3.0 trans to 4.0 motor

Yes I have searched the forums already and found nothing, will a 2.9 or a 3.0 5spd bolt up to a 4.0? Is the bell bolt pattern the same?

3.0 and 4.0 will not match, I found out that one the hard way, 4.0 and 2.9 is a maybe, i dont know off hand but they are both "cologne" motors. someone will chime in that knows.

a 2.9 will match, but is a weaker trans. it won't hold up to the 4.0's torque for long.

Thanks, I can get a complete 4x4 drivetrain less motor for $100.00. The motor is a 3.0 and I dont want to get rid of my 4.0.
