2001 auto to manual
2001 auto to manual
Trucks:
2001 Ford Ranger 4.0L V6 SOHC, automatic transmission
1998 Ford Ranger 4.0L V6 OHV, manual transmission
The 1998 Ranger will serve as the donor vehicle; it still runs and drives, but it has been declared a total loss. The 2001 Ranger has a blown transmission. From my research, it appears that I can swap the automatic transmission with the manual from the '98. However, I’ve encountered a compatibility issue with the ECU. I want to avoid having the check engine light (CEL) on constantly, but I can't find the right ECU without providing a VIN for a company to flash.
I live in the north bay area in California if anyone has any experience with this.
