2010 XLT 4x4 Control Module

Hi I have a 2010 4.0L XLT with 95k. I’m in the process of swapping out the 4x4 Control Module. My 4x4 will currently engage but won’t disengage. The circuit only electrifies one way. Does anyone know what programming needs to be done to the new module? Is the programming a dealer only item or can a local shop do the programming? Any idea what equipment/software is needed to do the programming? thanks,

No programming is needed. It just plug n plays. I just installed a new one this morning. If you can get your truck to shift to 4wd, but not back out after multiple attempts, it’s a high probability that your 4x4CM needs to be replaced. The job isn’t hard so no need to pay the dealer $400 labor plus $500 for a full price 4x4CM.
