3.73 W/LS or 4.10 W/O LS?

Alright I found a bunch of axles the ones for $160 have 3.73's with LS. The one for $300 has 4.10's W/O LS. I know price wise the 3.73 rear end is better but how will my truck be with those gears? In about 2 months I am upgrading to 4.56's anyways and I figure I can rebuild the LS since it comes in it.

So which should I get?

since you are going to 4.56 gears in a couple months, get the 3.73 gears w/ the LS diff.......you will regret not getting the L/S diff later......

also, why not get the L/S rear end, and then clean, prep, and paint it and get everything you need to put it in, go ahead and install the new 4.56 gears and THEN put it in the truck?

Cause I am selling my rear end to Evan (sanityaside) in order to get this rear end. He needs one since his 7.5 crashed. It gives me a really good reason to get this rear end since with the pearches and everything I will come out even. Minus the gears in the future.

ok......you will be fine with the 3.73's for a bit, but you will want to go with the 4.56's as soon as you can.......

what engine do you have a 3 or a 4?

so you probably have a 7.5 now correct?

i still would go with the 3.73 L/S 8.8 and then drive the SHO when you need fuel milage until you can get new gears.....

BTW....with the 3.0 and 35's i would go with 4.88 gears in the rear...

Anyone know an approximate weight of the axle? Like could I get it in the bed of my truck by myself?
