where youll loose the gas mileage is when getting going, so on the highway it shouldnt be to bad. dont expect to have as much poassing ability though. also, try to get some sort of knowledge on how far your speedo will be off before you leave here. might end up with some tickets on your way home for unknowingly speeding.

I have 35's but I have a 4.0L SOHC and a stick, my acceleration has been decreased some but not too bad, thats my concern for you, since you only have a 3.0. I think its at the very least going to be a real dog to drive until you can re-gear. I think its going to add a lot of stress also. Mileage wise I checked mine vs my gps and I was getting 14.78 mpg, thats with a light bar and off-roading(both hurt mileage some). I have noticed that at about 65 mph my motor only turns about 1800 rpm which is what gives me my great(all things considered) mileage. City mileage would be terrible I am sure.
I am not so sure I would want to drive my truck with just a 3.0 under the hood without 4.56 gears and/or some engine mods.

It sounds like you've already got things figured out, but I found another tool on TRS to calculate gear ratios after a tire swap:
http://www.therangerstation.com/tech...tioChange.html
By their calculator, the 4.56 gears will be the best choice. You do the math!!

i have 4.10s with 35s, and have broken my 5 speed manual 2 times now (outputshaft the first time, second time blew up first gear and the counter shaft) ..... im going to regear to 4.88s ( getting 37s next set of tires ) ... most my friends blame my tranny breaking because of the added hp from the supercharger ... meh i dunno ... you should be fine, but i would def regear to 4.56s.

well my outputshaft seal is different from yours, as i have a tcase that bolts to a different extension housing to the tranny. mine has not had any problems with leaks, just snapping that outputshaft in half was my problem .. id get it fixed, a 2wd should be fairly simple to fix, remove the drive shaft, remove the seal, install a new seal, install the drive shaft.

not a DD at all. 4.88 is the biggest the front diff will take. 5.13 is the biggest the rear will take anyway even if the front could take it.
considering it, after a 31 spline swap, and maybe a selectable locker(late this year hopefully). I would like to get the rear 31 spline axel and do the gears and diff and all and have it done and setup before installing it. maybe even do the front a couple weeks before, as long as didn't put it in 4wheel until the front and rear gears match.
