The guy i bought my gears from also said you can grind one tooth on the ring gear, I think this is what the guy that did my install did.
I saw that also in some how-to's -- but I don't like it as much. Some gearsets are just murder on c-clip axles and I imagine you might have to do BOTH. I can imagine doing 5.13's, lol...

aight the 14th is a no go.. company hogroast IE.. get wasted on the bosses beer :)

but you guys pick the 7th or the 21st. either of those is fine for me. im gonna get to do an exploder 8.8 install on mine in a week or 2 as i have a bent axle and the cheapest i can find the axle is $125.. call another place and i can get a disk to desk sploder for $200 which i was gonna do down the road anyway.

but the other thing i need a couple guys for is to remove my bed so i can mount my bumper the proper way..lol

I am pretty sure the guy that did my install grinded the ring gear( i wasn't there for all of the install).

Yeah I can imagen doing 5.13's. Believe me if they would have fit in the front I would put them in.

I just finished my 4.88 axle swap i only put about 100 miles on them but my first thoughts are they seem to return the power levels back to around stock. No more wheres the power feeling. It picks right up and moves. I didn't get it over 50 but in 5th gear the RPM were still pretty low. I don't think the motor will be screaming at highway speeds.
