4 low
4 low
Ok so i was hooking up a set of fog lights with a friend of mine. He had hooked up the lights on his truck so i trusted that he knew what he was doing. I ran the wires through the places i should. We got to the good point to click on the lights and see........ As soon as i flipped the switch i blew a inline fuse. i thought ok must have wired the switch wrong. SO i started up my truck to drive down to A n A. Let the clutch out and i was in 4 low !! Does this have anything to do with the lights or just a coincidental.
I removed the Transfer case motor, and put it into 2 high manually which is a temporary fix for now. But i still cant figure out how the lights fried the system. Or how it started up in 4 low on its own
thats why i don't let anyone do anything on my vehicles. i still don't see how it would go into 4 low if a fuse blew. When i wired my hellas, none of the wires for the lights were tapped into any wire on the truck. who knows wtf your friend did.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I was dealin with water for the past 5 days. And the battery was disconnected until the end of the install when we checked the lights just b4 installing the switch and everything was working good. I finally broke down and took it to my mechanic and he said that there is a plug behind the firewall that controls the transfer case motor and the speedometer, he said its probably a loose wire or fried plug. Guess i learned my lesson in trusting ppl on my truck lol
Welp got some bad news on the Ranger. My mechanic friend couldnt find any loose wires. And when he reconnected the transfer case motor it goes back into 4 low.. ... He said that most likely some "black box" thingy that i forget what he called it lol but its located in the passengers side dash area.
Make scene to anyone? lol b/c he confused the heck outta me
