4 wheel drive front end noise

So it's cold and snowing up here in Canada, so i'm starting to use my 4wd alot. When i'm driving on pavement in 4wd, i notice a sound, when i take my foot off the gas, it's in the front end-- i have a standard transmission too. I've had a boot replaced it the front end about 5 mnths ago (65,000kms on it now, change at about 50,000km). Any ideas? It's not a loud sound but i can hear it only when i let off the throttle.

i read a thread on it, and it's also in your owner's manual. You can use 4wd on the pavement as long as you stay below 80 km/h. i'm gonna get underneath her today and have a good visual inspection, still if anyone has an idea what it may be, pls post it.

Could it be just the sound from the transfer case? i'll better explain the sound, it sounds almost like the sound a fwd car going in reverse, you get that little ween sound, but it's not as high pitch or as loud, and it's made only during deceleration on wet/dry pavement, but it does'nt become louder or quieter with higher/lower rpm's.And i haven't tried to see if it is heard above 3rd gear.
