4wd worked FOR TEN MINUTES!! :12:
 

:12: So I have been surfing all the threads about the 4wd problems... my is a lil different. Last night I got the switch on the dash for my truck, the old one was bad. The switch worked 4wd work so I went out to a local gravel pit and did a couple of reverse crawls to "test" the 4wd. Well I got up the one in my picture above the tried another one..... :puppy_dog i couldn't get up it at first so i gave her the beans a lil bit and I saw out of my passenger side either smoke or dust could tell... but that is not alarmed me.. IT WAS THE SMELL.. smelled like one of two things electrical burning or cluthch.... so i drive up 10 feet hit the button---back in 2wd-- now it wont go back in??? the button is still making the modual under the jump seat click and the function check on the modual passed :hypnotize.... any ideas... i was thinking about just picking up a new motor :confused: and seeing if that fixes it.:irked::irked:

I read that part and couldn't tell if you can't type or if you were a spammer talking about getting it on in the truck. :jester:

So, I don't see a picture. Are you a manual or auto? What year? Some have swtiches, some have push buttons to go into 4x4...you talk about both.

It is a 1994 XLT 4.0 5-speed with push button 4wd.

do you still have the auto locking hubs or did you upgrade them to manual locking?

so i am just going to get a new motor and see if that fixes it..............

well got a new motor... and the 4wd is working again. now i just need to fix the fuel tank.
