4x4 problems- 99 Ranger

I used 4x4 a couple days ago & it seemed to work ok. Then we got a bunch of snow & I put it in & nothing.

99 Ranger w/auto-lock hubs, the dial-type sitch to engage it. The 4x4Hi & 4x4Low lights blink at the same time, but nothing engages. They'll blink periodically when I'm driving, but nothing else.

I checked the simplist sollution & looked at all the dash board fuses, but of course it's never that easy. Could it be a relay under the hood or something worse? Any ideas?

Thanks

It could be that souped-up wiper motor that enguages the transfer case...

It's often not the motor itself, but a control system problem due to a broken end-stop bushing or dirty contacts in the encoder.

It's got what you need to figure out your problem.
