55e vs 44e

This is an oddball question so bare with me.

I understand the 5r44e and 5r44e are essentially the same trans, the 55e has some upgraded parts to handle the extra power of the 4.0 over the 2.3 and 3.0...

A. What are the actual upgraded components on the 55e?

B. Not to rag on the 4.0 but the hp and torque numbers are not THAT drastic over the smaller engines. I could see needing a tougher trans going from a 2.3 to a 5.4 or bigger but in my mind the gap in power is just too small to warrant needing "upgrades" unless someone at ford found problems with the 5r44e and decided to only upgrade them on the 4.0 to save costs.

C. If you were rebuilding or replacing a 5r44e would you not just rebuild with 55e components?
