No its the same as the explorer axle. You'll have to grind off the leaf perches and mountt them on top. You'll also have to make new shock mounting tabs because your shocks wont match up

its so much better of an axle. the install is super easy and there is a TON of info on it. as long as your gears match the hardest part is relocating the spring perches. the explorer axle is a spring under while the ranger is a spring over. as for the shox you can side step the shock tab fabrication. the expo shocks are mounted on the spring plate, you cna get 2 (belive it to be driver side) perches and put those on. its worth it.

31 spline-much better than 28 of a ranger
disck breaks- much much better than than the ranger drum breaks...plus no more bad wheel cyl.
L/S- you may have it, but if you dont its much better than not!
bigger axle tubes- again more strength

just what he said. no mods required for the shocks. just new hangers or if you want a 4" drop, just bolt it in as is.

that does not work my man, its hard to find 4:10 at a JY, and they don't have the 31 inch spline

then matching gears isn't a problem for you. if you had a 4wd, you would need to keep the gears the same on both axles. can't run a 3.73 in the front and a 4.10 in the rear.
