Funny how they do that, why a different housing... ?

The old tired and true 9" could be built with anything, yes there were different size bearing but the basic axles could be built and built tuff.

Thanks for the info, maybe a 9" is in the future... ha, ha.. LOL.

I agree 100% BUT, for what I will be doing and the differences in connections, electrical that is, I think the 8.8 is the way to go.

the sterling 10.25 has a ring on the ring gear for the abs sensor...

And the ranger ABS sensor plug will plug right up to the sterling...

I just got ubolts made for my 8.8, 28 spline, its 2.75".

no its not the axle tube for the 28 spline 8.8 is 3 inches and the 31 spline axle tube is 3.25 inches
