I have a 84 Ranger with a new 2.3 long block 3 speed auto tranny. My problem is this truck is only getting 14 MPG

I also have a a overdrive tranny from a 93 2.9 v 6

My question is will the tranny from the 2.9 bolt up to the 2.3 ?

 

Call a local wrecking yard and ask. They have the info, it just depends on the guy answering the phone if he'll release the info.

 

dont think they made the 2.9 in 93. and i tink the bell housing bolts are diffrent.
