97 explorer dana 35

Just thought id ask this question
First off last night i grenaded my front gears(pinion seal leaked). I found a Dana 35 from a guy that lives locally who also happens to be on explorerforums.com, its got the gears i need. Now my question is since my truck was made in 12/99 I'm going to guess that i have the live axle set up. Would this diff not work with my truck? If you have aim just aim at chevyslayer925. I'm hoping it works, for 135 bucks i cant pass it up.

Jason

It should work. The type of hubs you have won't affect anything if you're just changing the axle.

I'm changing the pumpking out, just drop the one with the broken gears out, pop the used one in, put the axles in bolt it together add fluid and off i go

Explorers never used PVH hubs like rangers did so certain ones used a disconnect on the axle itself instead of at the hubs like rangers. Make sure the donor axle does not have that. Do you have a link to the axle so we can check it out and see?

Cool! The one in the link will work perfectly in your ranger.
