Abs Light Wobbly Speedo

2000 Ford Ranger 4cyl. 5speed, Standard Pickup.

I Replaced Speed Sensor In Rear, Followed Wires From Everywhere, Checked Tail-lights

When I Brake My Speedometer Shuts Off, When I Let Off The Break The Speedometer Works Fine. Abs Light Is On.

When I Unhooked The Brake Sensor (brake Sensor On Brake Petal) The Speedometer Works Fine.

Can Anyone Help, Thanks!!!

Another thing to check:

Open up the large 40-pin connector under the truck directly below the driver seat. Over time, this connector has a nasty habit of filling with water which causes crossed circuits and pin corrosion. The truck may exhibit a wide variety of symptoms involving circuits in the rear of the truck, none of them good.

Remove any water, clean the pins and reassemble with dielectric grease inside. This is good preventative maintenance on any 99~2003 Ranger.

The Ranger electrical system was reengineered in 2004 and the large connector under the seat was eliminated. It was replaced by 2 smaller connectors: a square one from the body harness and a round connector from the transmssion.
