So my brother blew the transmission and clutch in my 1993 Ranger with 3.0L 5-spd. I found another transmission from a member hereon R-F who pulled the transmission from a 2002 Ranger 3.0L 5-spd. Everything looked exactly the same on the outside of transmission but after installing it i ran into acouple speed bumps....the shifters are different!! If you look art the pictures below you will see the difference. The shafts are abit longer and they are turned to the side. When i took the bottom piece off and put the new shaft on my shifter from the 93 it was all wrong... the shifter is now up against the dash while in neutral and i cannot get and top gears.. I have searched the local junk yards and all said they had no idea they changed that so they have always just thrown the shifters in the scrap bin and just the the lower part that sits inside the tranny. So if anyone here can help me out it would be greatly appreciated!! Anyone know what year they changed these??? Thanks
