Axle shortening

So I am going to be shortening the Dana 44 that I got. What did you guys shorten yours to. Mine is 51 5/16 ball joint to ball joint. Just so you guys know my Dana is out of a 85 Jeep J10.

It seems REALLY easy but then you have to have your axle shafts shortened each time.

Narrowing a Ford Dana 44

EDIT: Nevermind I thought your were asking HOW to shorten it. I am running full width on mine.

Ya i have read on how to do it. I just don't feel comfortable to do it my self. If this was just a trail truck then fine. but this is going to be my daily driver for a few more years. So I am going to get someone to do it but they need the measurement first. So I figured that it would just be easier to ask your guys how much you took out of the shafts, so on and so forth.
