building a prerunner, gear and tranny questons.

I have a 2003 ranger 3.0 2wd edge with 35'' a/t. I was wondering what I should gear the truck to, to get the best performance. I'm trying to turn it into a legal pre-runner. Any suggestions on what I should do? And would a 5 speed swap be easy in it?

You need to do a little more research by the sounds of things.

Gears depends on a lot of things and a 5 speed swap is easy if you know what your doing

Gears…
What RPM ranger do you want to run the engine in ?
Usually 4.56s will work out well enough w/35” tire but 4.88s will give you more seat of the pants feel but also run the engine at a higher rpm.

The 5-sp swap, it may be easy for a guy with experience and the tools but fins a nice truck with a 5-sp and start from there.

Luck
