Clean Bill of health, No Overdrive... WTH?

I have a few threads pertaining to this truck, this one is a little different. (Most recent threads explains what I've replaced.)

2004 Ford Ranger Tremor with the 3.0.

I have no overdrive, while at highway speeds. It takes around 30 seconds to hit 60mph. I took it to a transmission shop, and he said the transmission is "performing beautifully". He said it's as if the engine is not taking fuel or the timing is off.

I took it down the road to another mechanic shop, they connected it to a machine that ran diagnostics. Every test performed, came back with passing results. Including the timing.

What do I do now?

New parts include...
1) New Spark Plugs
2) New Catalytic Converter x 2
3) New MAFS
4) New TPS
5) New Cylinder Head x2
6) New Alternator
7) New Serpentine Belt
8) New Idler Pulley
9) New Water Pump
10) New Fuel Filter
11) New Distributor Module/Ignition Coil Pack
12) New Heater Core

I know some of this is irrelevant, but I added it just to do so.

Have you checked the coolant temp sensor? If it inaccurately reads cold it can disable the lockup on the torque converter and overdrive function as well as change the timing and a bunch of other stuff.

I've never heard of that... I'll check into it. Google searching right now...

Just got back from AutoZone... waiting for the truck to cool off. Thank you for mentioning the CTS.

I just installed it, and test drove it... I does it still, but I noticed it was actually catching overdrive at times, and rpm's stayed reasonably low.

I guess this forum has lost it's purpose.

Someone close my account, I'll see if I can do it through the profile links.

Are you resting your left foot on the brake pedal when you drive?

Are your brakes and all brake lights functioning properly? All bulbs light up when you step on the brake? Go off when you let off? Don't flicker when you go down the road? If you have ABS, does it function properly? Have you checked all the connections going to the trans and wires leading up to it? It only takes one wire to mess up a perfectly fine vehicle. Just trying to help here, didn't have time to go through all your threads so please forgive me if anything has been repeated.

Brakes seem to be fine. All the brake lights worked as of January when I had it inspected, the issue has been around for a while. ABS light itself has never lit up, but I can slam the brakes, and feel the ABS working. (Correctly working? IDK.) I checked the clunky wire connection on the left side of the engine, and the Input sensor, but nothing else. (Will do this soon).

*** UPDATE ***

A family friend spent about 15 minutes combined, under the hood, asking questions and test driving it. He said it's an issue with exhaust. Suggested I look at the 3rd catalytic converter. I pulled it out, and Wow! My whole problem. It now has too much power for the old U joints.

Glad to hear you got it figured out! Sounds like you have a near new truck now! So with a plugged up Cat, did the temperature ever climb up or overheat on you? That engine must have been running poorly for a while previously to plug up a Cat or it just failed due to corrosion and such. Anyway, it's good to have friends.

I had The cat for bank 1 stop up, and I saw-zaw'd it out... The metal shavings clogged the 3rd cat. It never overheated, always started at the way point on the gauge, which was normal behind this.
