Clutch catches high SOMETIMES

Hi, I’m new to the forum, so if this is already being addressed please direct me to the right place. So, I bought a 99 ranger about a week and a half ago. Runs great and is in good condition. 173k. My clutch is giving me some trouble. When I start it up it shifts normally, catches where you expect it, but if I drive for more than a half hour it starts catching VERY high. Almost if not to the point where my foot comes off. What would be the cause of that? I recently changed the trans fluid and there was no metal in the old fluid. I’ve heard talk that it could be a cylinder issue, or is it time to just replace the clutch altogether? I’ve never driven anything that has a meandering clutch. Please advise. Thank you.
